My Life on Paper

Journal writing is a voyage to the interior.
–C. Baldwin

I’ve been journaling since I was a small child.  I remember old journal entries written when I was just a little lamb:: creating a Save the Endangered Species club, trying to rescue a little kitten I found in our yard, being outraged when the older neighborhood boys tore down our fort in the woods, thoughts on having my very own horse while all the other neighborhood kids had 4 wheelers (I was the lucky one)….and I still journal today.

That picture shows my life…recorded on paper.  I’m talking YEARS here.  I believe one of those journals is dedicated to my ‘future husband.’ Oh dear.  An idea I formed at church camp, I’m sure.

Anyways, since blogging I’ve totally fallen off the journaling wagon and that just will not do…at all!! I need those little journals like I need air, chick fil a, pretty dresses, and sugar.  So, thank heavens for Janel and the 30 Day Journal Challenge.  30 days of journal prompts and accountability from other bloggers.  There are so many inspirational things happening in the blog world.  I encourage you to search around, meet new people, and actively take part in the creating that’s going on!! It’s so fun and you learn things about yourself that you never knew.  I think it’s just swell.  All that to say, the journal challenge starts tomorrow!! So join us! It’s free and you get a super cute blog button.  That’s enough for me.

Ok – time for church!! I like you as much as I like apples.  That’s a fierce kind of liking going on.

I am so excited to take this class. I remember having diaries when I was younger but nothing I actually held on too. That is so awesome how you have years of your life on paper, I wish I would have started much sooner!

I regret shredding some of my kid journals afraid someone would discover my silly thoughts. I journal once in a while but I really need to delve deeper the way I did as a kid 🙂 thanks for reminding me about the joy of journalling 🙂

thanks for reminding of my journals from my childhood. i need to go and raid my folk’s home and see if they are still there (which is kind of a challenge since we’re talking decades ago). i did julie cameron’s The Artist’s Way this year – you have to journal every day. It was amazing. but will check out this challenge too.
