Homemade Granola & Butter Beer

My friend Nicole and I made some yummy yummy and more yummy homemade granola the other day.  It’s so easy to make and actually really healthy.  I’ve eaten it every morning with vanilla yogurt and blueberries.  Mmmm mmmm mmmmm. Wanna make it?  I thought so!!

Yummy Ingredients:
2 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1/2 cup craisins
1/2 cup flaxseed
1/4 cup maple syrup
3 Tbs vegetable oil
2 Tbs warm H2O

Now you make it:
-Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
-Spray 9×13 pan
-Mix oats, wheat germ, salt, and extra ingredients (except for the dried fruit) in bowl.

-Heat syrup, oil and water to simmer on medium heat.

-Drizzle over oats and stir to combine.
-Pour mix into prepared pan.
-Use your (clean) hands or a spoon to mix ingredients together.
-Bake 30 minutes then stir in dried fruit.
-Bake 20-30 minutes longer or until golden brown.
-Cool and store up to one month in airtight container.
**this recipe will make 2 batches (I love that word) of granola so you’ll need two 9×13 pans.

Now eat it up because it’s addicting.  I want some right meow. So the granola itself was good enough but we also made Harry Potter Butter Beer!! Eek! I have always been a lover of all things Harry Potter so when my friend Josiah showed me this Butter Beer recipe I had to make it.  It sent Nicole and I into sugar shock but it was totally worth it.

Ingredients:
1 bottle IBC Cream Soda
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 Tbs sugar
1 Tbs powdered sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Then you make the sweet magical goodness:
-Whip all of the ingredients (except the cream soda) to desired consistency.
-Pour Cream Soda into frosted mugs.
-Layer foam on top with spoon, let rest for 10-20 seconds for the soda to carbonate the foam.

So yummy!

Cheers!!!

I’m headed to Omaha in the morning.  I’ll try to blog during the weekend but it’s going to be a little hectic with my work schedule and all.  Signing off to finish eating the brownies I just made and watch Across The Universe.  My how I love this movie.

xoxox! Thanks again for reading my little bloggity blog!! Leave me a comment if you want me to check out your blog and I’ll be sure to do it.  I’ve met so many lovely people in the blogosphere so far.  Loves it.

Ya I have no clue what it is, all I know is a dehydrator is involved.

I will see if I can find you some of her crazy recipes. Like kombucha and kiefer. Have you heard of that stuff? Its really nasty

You didn’t guilt me into anything!! Haha!! I need to make a list of all the blogs I like checking so I don’t forget. I do that often, then I’m like “hey! I need to visit Kyle’s blog!!!” Yes, kombucha is pretty intense. I may stick to the one I made b/c it’s tasty and easy as can be.

    AHHH!!! Butter beer???? 😀 😀
I’ve been wanting to try that stuff since I first read about it in Harry Potter (I confess, I too am obsessed with all things Harry-ish)
That looks and sounds amazing! Think I’m going to have to give it a try!
Do you like how I went straight to the sugar-high related part rather then the also delicious granola part?? 😉 hehehe
I had granola this morning, not as yummy sounding as yours… since it was store bought and sealed in a teeny tiny container with some yoghurt, but hey I tried!
    Now I want butter beer…mmm
Have a great weekend lovely xxx

My husband ate all the home-made granola my dear friend recently gave me in exchange for some babysitting (in his words – he just couldn’t stop himself!) SOOO I’m so very happy I came across your recipe, anything with maple syrup wins me over!!!
