There once was a darling girl named Carli
She spends her time taking pretty photos, writing lovely words and dreaming big dreams with her handsome prince and puppy.
One day, in Austin, Carli met me in a coffee shop.
In less than five minutes, we became instant friends.  Sisters.

I drove to Austin this past weekend so I could spend time with my longtime best friend Jamie and Carli!  With the sun setting over Austin, Carli took this photo of me twirling under the stars.  She is gifted at capturing moments and making them extraordinary.  I love her so much.

Check out more of her beautiful work here –  She is a ray of sunshine in my darkest and even brightest moments.

I’ll share…eventually.

I am seriously having the hardest time sitting down to write an Ireland/Scotland blog post!  The trip was beautiful in so many ways.  We visited gorgeous places and I took nearly 1,000 photos so there’s not a lack of things to share.  I think maybe that’s the problem.  There is so much goodness that I’m having trouble picking where to start.  Part of me wants to keep all of it to myself just a little bit longer.  Maybe then it will feel like it isn’t really over.  Silly, isn’t it?  But that’s how we are sometimes.

Tyler took a few videos while we were exploring.  I’ll post one of those for now.  I can be a little crazy to travel with.  Crazy as in ‘oh my goodness, I’m so happy to be alive right now!!’  This was taken on the 4 hour train ride from Loch Ness to Edinburgh.  It was GORGEOUS!!

So special.  Thankfully, my friends are very patient people. *smile*

I’m headed to Austin again for another weekend with some of my favorite ladies.  Hoping to get some sunshine on my non-tan self.  Have a wonderful holiday!

Currently Watching…

Across The Universe

It’s only my all-time favorite movie in the world!  I could watch it three times every day.  I know because last month I watched it that many times in one afternoon.  Oh it’s pure musical bliss!! Plus, it has the most epic grand gesture of boy meets girl then goes to get her and I…just…love…it.

The British accent doesn’t hurt either.

Back to the movie.

Tyler Gould took some fantastic shots while we were out and about.  Here are a few of my favorites from Ireland.  I’ll post more in depth about our daily adventures later.  Until then…enjoy!!

Home Sweet Home

May 19, 2011

I’m home, I’m home!  The vacation was one of the most beautiful experiences in my 29 years of existence.  We spent the past two weeks running, biking, taking trains, taxis, walking, dancing and wide-eyed exploring all over Scotland and Ireland.  Yes, I’m already planning my next trip.  I cannot get enough of Europe.

I’ll write some in-depth posts later but I’m spending the rest of day watching Across the Universe, doing laundry and eating white chocolate peanut butter.  The vacation was everything I dreamed of and more.  I love when that happens.

Hey guys and gals-

I’m getting everything together for my Ireland and Scotland trip.  We leave tomorrow afternoon and I haven’t packed one single thing.  It’s not that huge of a deal.  I’m only bringing a little backpack with a dress, leggings, my Ugg moccassins and a flannel shirt or two.  That’s how we do it.  Low maintenance.  Oh, and a camera.  Duh.  And my iPod.  Plus a few books.  One journal.  Ok, I’m done now.

So I’ll be hostel hopping until May 18!!  I won’t be blogging but I will be checking my email from time to time.  Feel free to send me a little hello or even some suggestions of things to do.

Be good while I’m gone!!!!!

Maybe? Maybe Not.

MacBook or no MacBook?  This is the question I’ve been asking myself for three years now.

Tumblr_ljwsnvl0k91qfvvcoo1_500_large{We Heart It}

I’ve been using my {free} work computer for four years.  This means I don’t have a computer of my own.  This also means that I haven’t had to pay for internet OR a computer in four years.  Sweet!! Yep, it really is.  However, I think I’d love a pretty little MacBook to do a few things like edit videos, photoshop, video blogs, skype, and more that I can’t do on this little laptop I currently have.

{We Heart It}

What to do…what to do?!

Are Macs really that amazing?  Do I continue the bliss of free or do I save up and get a Mac, which means I’ll start paying for internet.  These are the questions I’m asking tonight while the rest of the world is in Cinco de Mayo craziness.  Hehe.  Alright, my Scotland and Ireland travel books are calling my name!! I have lots to do before heading out on Saturday!!!!!! YES!!!

Have a good night!!!

The weather was perfect tonight, so after work I went on a bike ride. I started off by myself and then decided the ride would be much more fun with a friend. I invited Chrissy along and, just like I knew it would be, the night got even better.

We rode to a park. Played on the swing sets. Then we continued on to Starbucks and sat on the patio, sipping lattes as the sun went down.

I’m learning more and more how much lovelier life experiences are if you have good people around to share them with. We’re created for community although we fight against it. Sometimes it’s nice to give in and enjoy one another.

Ah, springtime.

All Grown Up!

May 2, 2011

My little blog is undergoing some changes here and there…one day at a time.  One thing I’ve been wanting to do for a while is get a domain name of my very own.  So….

It’s officially mine!  I feel so grown up.  I also feel like I’ll be saving a few seconds of my life now that I won’t be typing in the longest//blog//URL//ever anymore.

Oh, Las Vegas was fun!!  However, I need to get back to enjoying my evening.  It’s fifty degrees here in Texas and  I’m in HEAVEN!!
